Policies and programmes on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) for young people need to respect diverse values held by a wide range of groups, provide information that addresses the realities of young people’s lives, and support young people to make healthy choices and decisions. To fulfil these requirements, policymakers and those involved in programme development should ensure that: young people themselves are meaningfully involved in policy and programme development processes; and that all young people particularly those from vulnerable groups are equally served by policies and programmes.
This Good Practice Brief highlights examples of innovative and effective SRHR projects that demonstrate the positive principles of youth participation and respect for diversity.
